Care of Terminally Ill and Dying
Policy: In the event that an individual is ailing and the physician deems that all medical interventions have been exhausted, the staff will do their best to make them comfortable. The care plan will be adjusted to meet the patient’s needs with dignity and respect.
Procedure: Follow doctor’s orders.
Care of Persons with HIV/AIDS
Persons with HIV/AIDS need care and support to continue a normal life. Should we encounter any such individual, we will be careful to treat them with the uttermost respect.
Policy:
- We will practice the guidelines specified in the universal precautions.
- We will carefully follow the personal care plan of the individual.
- We will take extra care in preventing accidents that may cause an opening in the skin.
- We will provide the individual with information regarding any new medication that becomes available.
